Do most astrologers have a licensed business for their practice?
I saw this on a friend’s Facebook profile and it made me wonder….

This person is anti-horoscope, but she apparently has a business license for doing astrology readings. I’m wondering how one goes about doing that, and if there are requirements such as a degree of some type?

I live in a large city and there are many storefront "psychics" in business. These places mostly are "one stop shopping" since they do every kind of fortune telling along with selling media, candles, and related trinkets. Just being an astrologer does not make money for most. They have to pay taxes and need a license to operate. I’m sure if you start an online business, the IRS will want their cut. Of course the consumer does not have any protection from fraud.
Degrees are for show. No astrologer is going to really be tested, let alone pass one. Though you would think a scientifically proved astrologer could name their price and get it.
There are not degree requirements for astrology. There are many places to get a diploma; many astrology schools offer degrees, certifications, and such…
There are business license requirements for shops or incorporated business, but not necessarily for private practices, in general, but this will vary depending on country, state and local ordinances.
Countries such as India offer Vedic astrology as course curriculum at many colleges.
