i tried doing some astrology reading from some of my friends & family, most of them who were interested were females, but they didn’t have any interest about readings talking about themselves, but very interested in the compatablity between them & their crush, boyfriend, husband, etc……..

I s’pose… I got the exact same question from friends myself, over and over again. I didn’t even try to look at the compatibility, I just told them to try and see if it worked. From experience, because I’ve been out with people who had great compatibility with me but with whom I felt absolutely nothing, I even got bored with them most of the time. There are people who constantly fight but still can’t live without one another and there are people who work wonderfully well together but the only thing missing is actual love.
But, people always like to know such things in advance. For some reason they would rather not waste their time on a relationship that is going to fail anyway, or would like the confirmation that they picked the right one even when it’s not. I’ve even known people who only picked partners on the basis of sun sign compatibility. And there’s nothing worse than hearing a Gemini say "I can’t go out with him, he’s a Taurus; we’re not compatible". Relationships are, after all, the most important aspect in a human life.
So yes, compatibility sells. Moreso than periodical horoscopes and sun sign personality. Even I find myself hovering towards compatability lists, but just to prove them wrong :p
Probably so, I like to use astrology to better understand myself and why I react the way I do to certain situations. It helps me to see the areas where I need to focus more of my energy and areas where I could improve. For example: I can come off as very cold and uncaring with my reaction to others when they upset me. Knowing this I tend to think before I speak so as not too be too harsh with others. I could go on with tons of examples.
We are human and most people want to know how they and others relate, its how they identify themselves. I believe we should know ourselves first and fore most, then and only then can we truly give ourselves to others.
