Psychics why do I have to deal with such negativity and rudeness at work?

Hello,I’m at this job since 5 months. And most of my co-workers haven’t accepted me there.They are so unprofessional. They gossip about me behind my back. When I smile at them, they look at me coldly. They are just rude to me. This hurts me as I have done nothing to deserve that. When they see me they stare. Why are they like that with me please?

I kinda agree with kirsty ^^ workers and colleagues would always gossip and talk about people because they have hard lives to lead on, perhaps they jealous. It happened to my mum (Scorpio) so much because she had recognition, everyone likes her and appreciates her. She’s never to one to ask anything back. And all of her colleagues even her manager got jealous of her, they are doing something behind her back like gossiping or trying to get her off employment but only god can help us here! My mum used to be all conscience but now she doesnt care at all, so you shouldn’t either.
Just put ur head down, do your work and finish it and then to the next task. Some workers can be vindictive too so be careful of letting out any of ur secrets or personal issues. Keep them to urself (my cancer sister’s mistake)
Never take it personally. They probably have hard lives and things you couldn’t imagine. Though, they are being selfish in their rudeness > Be happy and never take it personally

I have read your question here and the additional details you sent to me in e-mail. I agree with all other answers given so far.
I look closely to see if there is something special about this situation for you.
Why?
I see is that you have just recently joined the community of co-workers. The new person is usually the target for any workplace resentments. Anyone who is "different" in any way is also the target in any community. I see you are correct, when you say that you behave in Professional manner and most others at your workplace do not. I also see that you have experienced rejection in other areas of your life- this will influence how you feel and react to co-workers behaviour.
Things will change and the first change will be within yourself.
When?
I see number 6. This may be month 6/ next June. Or may be 6 weeks from now or 6 months from now. That is as close as i can get at this time. It is not so close as the number of a day or as far as a number of years.
